Exciting news: the parish council has asked Bishop Peter Stewart to appoint our locum Revd Bryce Amner as Priest in Charge. Bishop Peter has agreed and Revd Bryce was delighted to accept.

A commissioning service for Revd Bryce as Priest in Charge was held on Monday 22 May at 7pm, with supper afterwards in the hall. It was the first commissioning service in the parish for many years and the first ever at St Matthew’s Georgetown (previous commissionings have been held at St Philip’s Waratah).

The commissioning service was a very joyful occasion – with many parishioners present, as well as lots of visitors and visiting clergy. I am particularly thankful to all those who worked behind the scenes to make it a success. The church and hall looked stunning – many visitors commented on this. And the food was amazing! I would also like to thank the members of Parish Council, who have wholeheartedly endorsed my leadership over the last year, culminating in their request to Bishop Peter to have me appointed as Priest in Charge.
